Wesley and I were never super formal by the way. If you can’t tell by interior decorating.
[Not that she’s trying to sexually harass anyone who works for her. But just so he knows it’s always been more like close friends working than some sort of strict organization. That’s how her and Wesley started out after all.]
He also died when I was 18. So it was a little jarring to see the face of someone you haven’t in almost 10 years.
Sorry about that. You’d think after 2.5 years I’d get used to what this place is capable of.
Wish I could say it was, but...no. Are you doing okay?
I'm sorry I ended up stuck in here. I know it's not really a promising start for our contract. Well. I guess neither was getting stuck in the middle of turf warfare either.
After the Realignment field trip, Ducky had made tomato soup and grilled cheese, a nice comforting meal, and packed up a parcel before telling Felix she was going to visit a friend.
That was hours ago. She's now slipping back into the apartment gingerly, her arm in a sling, a bruise on her forehead, and wearing a pair of hospital slippers instead of the shoes she'd left in.
It's been an eventful night.
She hopes, really and truly hopes, that Felix is already in bed. But she learned his sleep habits (or lack thereof) the first night she met him, and already knows that's unlikely.
Felix is absolutely still awake and this time it isn't even because he's a night owl. If Ducky is going to stay out, he usually knows about it. Her not letting him know she's not coming home for the night, that's worrisome.
When she gets back, he's in the living room working at his desk by the windows. Hearing the lock turn, hearing the door whisper open and shut, Felix gets up and heads towards the hall.
Anything else he was going to say about, maybe, Where were you or Busy night dies on his lips at the sight of her. Instead:

Well, I can see why you might not want to think of me in these terms.
Which I'm fine with, for the record.
[Because she's his boss.]
I guess that explains your reaction when we first met. I was wondering about that a little.

But yeah. I was.
I would have thought they had better things to do then track us down again.
But, you know, since they lost so much control...maybe it makes sense.
I'm surprised we're allowed to keep our phones.
